AP Revisionist History Authors Working Overtime
I will try not to use profanity in this post, but I may not be able to avoid it. Every time I see a picture of Chris Dodd or Barney Frank, I want to puke. This one is especially ironic, though.
As I was looking for clips for my ‘Recent Video’ slot on my home page, I saw this report from the AP. (Note – I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS CLIP IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM)
All I could do is shake my head and mumble “they’re doing it again”. Now that President-elect Obama is naming his staff, his unindicted co-conspirators in the mainstream media must come in as cleaners and pin as much as possible to President Bush before he leaves office.
I continued my daily reading and came upon a story on the Sweetness & Light blog with this picture placed prominently at the top:
Take a look at Sen. Chris Dodd – he’s laughing so hard, he might be wetting his pants. Because he got a great mortgage deal or got off without so much as second glance.
A more confident Rep. Barney Frank is swatting away talk of him being complicit in defending Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac a couple of years ago. ‘Nothing to see here – move along.’
I wonder if the AP watches any C-SPAN?
Both Dodd and Frank know that they defended the warped policies that forced Fannie and Freddie to back nebuluous loans. It was a matter of political expediency. But, as that patriot Rev. Jeremiah Wright reminds us, ‘the chickens have come home to roost’. Truer words could not spoken; the asinine guidlines of pushing risky mortgages set up the economy for an historic fall. Now, they run from their words and, in fact, grill others (Sec. Paulson, Chirman Bernanke, former Cahirman Greenspan, et al), with their witch-hunt hearings, on how this possibly could happen. They should start by looking in the mirror.
With a Democrat President and majorities in the Senate and House, do not expect any real digging into the economic meltdown, with the failures of Fannie or Freddie as a centerpiece, anytime soon.
These guys literally got away with murder – and they know it.
