A Time For Choice
NOTE: Scroll down for updates.
This election is becoming more about ‘how’ to do rather than ‘what’ to do.
The economy is in the toilet these days – no slight to ‘Joe’. Sen. Obama says he’s the man to spread all that prosperity around. Will someone please tell me where all the prosperity is supposed to come from?
Sen. McCain is looking to encourage prosperity by keeping taxes low. A recession is not the time to increase taxes – regardless who would get an increase.
Chairman Bernanke went up the Hill and the Congressional ‘spenders’ were licking their chops when he said that he would suggest another ‘stimulus’ package. Chairman Bernanke, please expound on the source of that money.
It occurs to me that Sen. Obama and Chairman Bernanke want to take the taxpayer’s money and put it in the pockets of the people THEY see fit.
Where is the fiscal conservative on the GOP side who embraces Reaganomics when we TRULY need it? Getting ‘free’ money from Uncle Sam will run out one day. After all, the stimulus package is intended to be spent. But without job creation, a re-dedication to domestic manufacturing and a less-restrictive business environment will help cure our economic ills.
The Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffet, backs Sen. Obama, says that we are taxed too low and tells us that we should be ‘greedy’ when people are frightened (that’s his BUY signal). One thing – if cash is at a premium, where does all the cash come from, Mr. Buffet?
In case anyone wants to relive the early days of the Clinton first term (Democrat President and Congress) of confiscatory taxation or virtually the entire Carter Administration, you better choose wisely when you enter the election booth two weeks from now.
UPDATE 1
This just in today’s Wall Street Journal Opinion Page:
I made the point yesterday that Sen. Obama wanted to spread the wealth and Chairman Bernanke endorsed printing more money. I think I was in the right neighborhood but didn’t know how close I was until I read the WSJ this morning.
This is not good news…
