Happy Tuesday morning to you…it was nice to be back in my own bed last night. I figured I’d start my week a day late with some positive news.

No, not Joe Biden, Michelle Obama or the Kennedy Camelot party last night.

No, not John McCain hinting that Jay Leno may be his #2 man on the ticket.

How about the transmission of energy without wires?!?

Hold on now! Don’t toss out those extension cords just yet. While the technology to make wireless energy possible is decades away, Intel is working on the limitless applications that this breakthrough could produce.

Intel demonstrated a Wireless Energy Resonant Link that was able to power a 60-watt light bulb, which consumes more power than a laptop computer, without a wired connection. One of the best points I thought Intel brought up at the demonstration was the possible elimination of batteries and transformers. Many lower powered devices would benefit from this technology.

When I started The Armchair Energist, this was the kind of future innovation that I suspected we would see emerge. This may be the first ‘new’ energy technology I report on, but it certainly won’t be the last.
