I find myself gathering up stories from around the world to support my position that we should drill for more oil within the US – in all forms.

Today, it didn’t take long to find another example.

Imagine you are a sheikh in Qatar and you need to get an oil change for your Lamborghini. Do you go on yellowpages.com to find a local Jiffy Lube? Um, no. It’s a Lambo, for goodness sakes!

Well, there’s a Lambo dealer right in on Suhaim bin Hamad Street in downtown Doha…that will do, right? Wrong.

Ok, Mr. Sheikh, where do you suggest we take your primo ride?

London! Yes, that’s correct. Don’t take it to the authorized dealer in your own country – ship it 6,500 miles one way to London.

Not to mention that in a place where crude costs like $5 per barrel, the sheikh decided shell out 3,552 British pounds for the service.

But wait! There’s more…

There is a small, ahem, transportation fee. Like 20,000 pounds! I gotta tell you, when you have $45,000 to shell out for an oil change, you have no concept of money. This is the kind of lifestyle we support by buying our crude from abroad.

I think I’m going to stay with Jiffy Lube!
