Boris and Natasha Would Be Proud!
If you don’t have the cohones to be a global player in the petroleum industries, you may want to consider needlepoint. As you may know, I have been following the headlines on the TNK-BP saga and today, I was not disappointed.
In a fantastic feature today on Bloomberg.com, the TNK-BP venture is concisely chronicled since its inception. There has been success and failure and points made directly at what happens when a venture goes south. This is not an arena for the faint of heart.
I highlight the shenanigans going on here to make a point: as our Congress is bantering about ‘to drill or not to drill’, time is ticking. They say it will take ‘ten years’ before we see a drop of oil, so I say “we better get started then!” Unfortunately, this issue has not become a priority as to help the American citizens as much it is to advance agendas and increase the value of the ‘chips’ held by senators and representatives of coastal states.
With the cloak-and-dagger secrecy inside the Beltway these days, I’d like to see who will emerge as Bullwinkle and Rocket J. Squirrel to the rescue.
