I'm really surprised that the Politico is taking a page from the shopworn MSM playbook: report the condition of the GOP exactly opposite of the facts. In this case, it was today's report of the GOP gender gap. Politico laments the loss of Lisa Murkowski in the Senate, leaving only Kay Bailey Huchinson, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. First, they had to presume that Murkowski would win re-election. Secondly, they completely gloss over the emerging GOP hopefuls in all different races around the country, most notably, Nikki Haley in South Carolina and Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina in California. No small potatoes. Just ...

Why is 'Sheriff' Joe Smiling? Is it because the economic Recovery Summer is showing an actual recovery? ...or, because he's not President? ...or, because his popularity is higher since Election Eay 2008? Witty, but no. Joe may have found out that the makers of Botox will be fined $600 million for alleging that their product can be used as cure for headaches, among other ailments. Biden may have shown early concerns, but they were quickly allayed once he was assured that Botox could still be used for cosmetic treatments - something he vehemently denies. I'm sure that many in Hollywood can also breath a sigh of relief ...

Who knew when you toasted 'to your health' how correct you'd be. It seems that the more we know about drinking alcoholic beverages - in moderation - the more good they are for us. In a recent Time article, NOT drinking may prove worse. Those who abstained from alcohol tend to die earlier than their counterparts. "Moderate drinking, which is defined as one to three drinks per day, is associated with the lowest mortality rates in alcohol studies. Moderate alcohol use (especially when the beverage of choice is red wine) is thought to improve heart health, circulation and sociability, ...
08.31.2010 – Tuesday’s Show
While huddled around the TV last night during 'My Summer of (TV) Discontent', my youngest made a comment on Christina Hendricks' - um - figure. If you are a fan of Mad Men, the Emmy grabbing series, you know the hourglass body of her Joan Holloway character. The discussion turned to Christina's frame and if she was suitable for TV. My question is: why not? After years of bombarding us with waifs and passing them off as 'regular women', the real regular woman has emerged. And for those who didn't get the memo, they are 3-dimensional and do have curves. The editors of ...
08.30.2010 – Monday’s Show
While some in the lamestream media would rather bash Glenn Beck or under-report the size of the 'Restoring Honor' rally he hosted this past weekend, there is no doubt that this guy is on fire! Without droning on, Beck's rally was a tad droll for my taste but there were neither racial nor offensive. Even Mediaite's Glynnis MacNichol's take on the event was surprisingly fair. It's amazing what you can learn when you tone down the rhetoric for a minute. Beck, for all his faults and foibles, is just a guy who expects our representatives in government to be above reproach. He didn't ...

An Inconvenient Affair
As posted on Parcbench 15 June 2010 It was just reported by Star Magazine that Al Gore has been in an affair with Laurie David, activist and producer of the documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. For almost 2 years, I have been blogging and webcasting about the world of politics, news, political correctness and the like. My original premise was ‘no food for fuel’ as I wanted to illustrate... Art Linkletter Passes On Before Hosting SNL
As posted at Parcbench on 27 May 2010 Television icon Art Linkletter died on Wednesday at 97 after years of spoiling thousands of dead pools. His early TV popularity dates back to the the mid-1950′s with the show People Are Funny. As a child in the 60′s, I first remember seeing Linkletter in House Party; he seemed old back then too, but was always funny and had this grandpa-type warmth... [Read more]
NY/NJ to host ‘The Chilly Bowl’
As posted at Parcbench on 25 May 2010 Hell has frozen over. Or at least, East Rutherford New Jersey has. In February 2014, the site of the Super Bowl will be played in the shadow of New York City. The NFL owners voted today to award the Giants & Jets new home the half-billion dollar bonanza. Today’s New York Post called it The Chilly Bowl, rightfully so, because it will be the first Super... The Audacity of the Tech Savvy
As posted at Parcbench on 13 May 2010 As a person who has spent over 30 years in the Information Technology circles, I am quite pleased to see that the use of technology has exploded since I took my first COBOL class. (For those too young to know what I am talking about, Google it!) See what I mean? Kids under 25 said in a recent poll that it is more important to gather information that actually... [Read more]
The Revolution Will Be Televised
As published on 27 March 2010 on Parcbench Earlier this month, I started this article. I was going to write some piece about me being all pissed off on the latest threat by New York Nanny State: have restaurants stop adding salt to their cooking. Yep, the food police were inside of my booth at Sardi’s. The specter of Healthcare Passed was raising the government do-gooder fever pitch. Chefs... [Read more]
‘What Exit?’ and Jersey Toll Collector Road Rage
As published at Parcbench on 3 March 2010 While thumbing through my list of sites for show prep today, I came across an article on The Smoking Gun which immediately commanded my attention: Toll collector road rage. New Jersey has been the butt-end of jokes since the days of Peter Stuyvesant and New Amsterdam. Whether it’s Jimmy Hoffa resting eternally in the end zone of the soon-to-be-razed Giants... Tiger: By the Tale
As posted at Parcbench on 19 February 2010 The hour had come – 11am Eastern. The focus was on a lone podium with an audience of family and friends, but no reporters. I was stiffing my bias and the questions that whirled around my mind: Will Elin be there? Will he be contrite or combative? Will he walk out after his statement on the mend or a forever-broken man? All this week, the media pondered... [Read more]
Pam Tebow, Pro Choice
As published at Parcbench on 30 January 2010 On Super Bowl Sunday, CBS has decided to air a commercial produced by the pro-life group, Focus on Family, featuring Pam Tebow, mother of Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow. Working as a missionary with her family in the Phillipines in the mid-1980’s, Mrs. Tebow fell into a coma after contracting amoebic dysentery. The strong drug regimen used to treat her... [Read more]
Deity Death Match
As published on Parcbench on 15 January 2009 When I was a kid, there was a term used to describe a natural disaster. It was called an “Act of God”. As the good parochial school boy I was, the terminology didn’t coincide with my religious teachings. After all, God was one angry guy in the Old Testament. Floods. Fires. Locusts. Lot’s wife. Truly, when there was a natural disaster,... [Read more]
Merry Christmas From Uncle B.O.
While many were opening their presents on Christmas, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac received their own Secret Santa presents from uncle B.O. – a couple of blank checks. (h/t Ed Morrissey, Hot Air) While we were celebrating, the administration was calculating the best time to sign the executive orders allowing the money-sucking GSA’s to receive money above their $200 billion cap. And they... [Read more]
F*** the Vote
As posted on Parcbench on 23 December 2009 Eva Amurri and Zach Gilford have a novel idea on how the youth of America can persuade people to support the monstrosity know as the healthcare bill: withhold sex. The young Deluded Duo appears on the RockTheVote.com website to appeal for governmental healthcare to pass. In a cheap knock-off of the Hollyweird’s Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher’s “I Pledge”... Al Gore’s Year in Review
As published on Parcbench on 23 December 2009 On my radio show, one of my favorite topics is global warming. I have long argued that while the earth may have warmed over the past 35 years, mankind is not the de facto cause. In fact, some of the sampling may suggest that the recent peak temperatures may have been in 1998. America’s own eco-avenger is obviously the former Vice-president, Al Gore.... [Read more]
George Stephanopoulos – The (New) Manchurian Candidate
As published on Parcbench on 15 December 2009 Before our eyes, we are watching the rise of the latest Manchurian Candidate: George Stephanopoulos. By taking his new job at Good Morning America from Diane Sawyer, Stephanopoulos inches closer to his Extreme Media Makover. You have smart, educated, young idealist named George, son of a Greek Orthodox priest. Cherub-face, wide smile and handsome looks... [Read more]
